Music is a moral law.
It gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, and life to everything.

Our Logo
The Lotus is a universal symbol of rebirth and of the unfolding of potential spiritual growth, etc. It is associated with the feminine, the Goddess, the womb, and the 'mystical quest' (similar to the Holy Grail). The lotus, or water lily, also grows native to Australia.

The Black/White Reflection illustrates the balance between the dark and the light, acknowledging that, as Jung says, growth and enlightenment are gained by making the darkness conscious rather than envisioning only the light. Thus the black lotus is in the upper/conscious half of the design.

There are Seven Petals to each lotus. In the middle east, seven relates to Wisdom. In ancient Hebrew traditions seven relates to God. The Circle is the mandala of wholeness, of unity within the self. The circle is the universal symbol of connectedness.

The Four Directions represent balance. All the other cycles of four also link in with this ~ North/Summer/Fire/Full Moon, West/Autumn/Water/Waning Moon, South/Winter/Earth/Dark/New Moon, East/Spring/Air/Waxing Moon (configured for the Southern Hemisphere). The four directions encapsulates the cycle of death/rebirth journey.

The Five Lines represent the music stave, but flowing. These lines can also be read as energy, sound waves, water, air, fire, etc.

The Spiral is an ancient universal symbol representing the journey to the depths within, and the journey back into the consensual world. The anticlockwise direction of the spiral relates to the southern hemisphere.

The Dot painting technique has long been used by indigenous Australians to express their spiritual and energetic connection to this Great South Land of Australia, the land upon which we, too, live and respectfully walk.

MIAA Inc gratefully acknowledges Sandra Curtis for the design and description of the MIAA Logo.
