Certificate Course in Music and Imagery for Health

The Certificate course in Music and Imagery for Health is conducted by the Music and Imagery Association of Australia (MIAA) over one year, and comprises two modules:
Module 1:  Music and relaxation – two long weekend residential seminars in April and June (Friday 7pm – Monday 5pm)
Module 2:  Music and Imagery for Health – two long weekend residential seminars in October and November (Friday 7pm – Monday 5pm).

The Certificate course is conducted in Melbourne. For training in Brisbane, please see the Level 1 Training page.

Skills are applicable with individual and groups in community settings, hospitals, and other care settings.  The course engages students in using music from the Western classical tradition, as well as more contemporary choices of music. Certificate training focuses on group applications of GIM and an introduction to GIM as individual therapy. The training also includes personal GIM therapy and supervised GIM sessions with clients.
Completion of the Certificate course can be credited for CPD points with the Australian Music Therapy Association.
